In our household, we don’t eat out much. We believe that the best food is that prepared in the home and we mostly stick to the real ingredients that we can obtain within our budget. This absolutely means that I am in the kitchen every day making a wholesome meal (or as this post suggests, just something quick and simple).

On the weekends, there’s usually at least one day where I don’t spend much time in the kitchen. That’s where the Weekend Pizza comes into play.

I think this recipe is the best one for the crust. The rest I make up as I go. Good thing is that half of the dough I made is now frozen for next time!

*Just a note: I usually make the pizza sauce from scratch using tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, and various spices. In case you’re wondering, when you add a couple cans of water to tomato paste is turns into sauce. I make extra because it can be adapted for pasta 🙂

Here’s our before picture:

And after a bake of about 10 minutes, our after:

And this is Baby enjoying his first pizza crust!

Now go make some yourself! Enjoy!

Great post. I love that you cook with your own ingredients. Since I found out I was diabetic, about 5 years ago, I have embraced learning to cook with wheat flower, wheat noodles, and substitute sugar. 🙂
