Each of our five senses (touch, sight, smell, feel, and taste) help us to learn and understand the world around us. Here’s a fun linkup to share your surroundings with us each week. There are those among us who don’t have full use of these faculties, so gratitude and celebration for them is certainly in order. Hence,

FSFIt works like this.

    1. Take a picture or just narrate something for each of the five senses surrounding you right now.
    2. Then, post on your blog and link here, or simply reply in the comments. (For those of you wanting to post on your blog and link at the bottom of this post, you are welcome to use the little images I created for each sense.)

Oh, and if you have any ideas on sprucing things up let me know. I love new ideas and changing things to make it work for (most) everyone!

Here goes:

touch

The beautiful softness of Baby’s wonderfully curly hair as I run my hands over and through it.

taste

Banana in my mouth.

smell

The slightly sweet smell of Baby’s sweat as he sleeps on my lap while I work.

see

Baby’s wonderfully calm and relaxed face. The way I see how much he resembles me when he’s sleeping.

hear

The tap-tap-tapping of keys as I type in the silent stillness of our place and Baby’s reassuring and quiet breaths.

Now it’s your turn! Come on and join me on this Five Sense Friday adventure in exploring the world around me. Add your post url below and be sure to visit others’ posts as well!

I’m off travelling today but I love the concept here. I am a big fan of anything that draws us back into this moment, right here, right now. We spend so much time lost in the past and the future. This is a great mindfulness exercise 🙂
