I haven’t had any time to blog, as we’ve been so busy getting our house together. I miss writing about our life and sharing with others. Getting back to blogging once things settle down will happen. We’ll also be able to create a consistent routine that involves less working on major project for the house and more being.
Despite the fact we moved into our house almost 3 weeks ago, most of our belongings remain in the garage. We’re still sleeping on our air matress and now there are no interior doors. My kitchen is also now cabinet door-less, soon to be drawer-less and maybe countertop-less.
We have quite a long list of tasks remaining before we have our firsts guests the day after Thanksgiving. All these tasks are enjoyable in their own way, though still quite time and energy consuming.
Monkey Boy plays all day, mostly not getting into anything. Although a few times, Monkey Boy has said, “I’m helping”. On those occasions, he’s taken the roller or paint brush to paint himself or the wall. None of us have yet spent any time in our yard, let alone taken a walk around the neighborhood, both things I plan to do when I get a chance.
Gratefully though, we have lovely windows to view the changing and falling leaves, watch the rain fall, and receive the glory of abundant sunlight.
Almost all of the walls and ceilings have new paint, so now I’m working on the kitchen cabinets. This is how Monkey Boy has spent his time helping with the cabinets.
Meanwhile, I’ve spent my days in a covering of dust from all the sanding. At least the weather has been nice!
I never knew that being fully moved in would be such a long process. So, sorry for the infrequent updates and the near complete silence online, but I do hope to return frequently again in a couple of weeks.
