This last year has certainly been a rough one for us in different ways.  It’s also been a very good year in other ways. Aren’t all years pretty much like that?  Well in my world, that’s usually the case – some good, some not so good, maybe some bad, but usually good to have had either way.

We started off the year unsure what exactly would be happening for us.  A few short weeks later, my dad went in the ICU.  Baby Boy and I left Hun at home and went down to care for him for a few months.

Then, Hun’s brother got married, so we took a quick trip up to attend and participate in the wedding.  Baby Boy’s birthday was the following weekend.  While we were visiting family, we had a small party.  Baby Boy actually had 2 parties for his birthday this year.

Although my dad continues to go to the hospital on occasion for his undiagnosed auto-immune issue, though not as seriously, we started to look for a different place to live.  Our search went on for seemingly forever.  After losing out on three potential homes, we finally found this beautiful one.

We spent over 2 months just doing some improvement/updates to this lovely home, battling a bit of illness along the way and missing Thanksgiving.  Christmas arrived and we welcomed Hun’s family, who helped with one of the last major improvements (for now) and a bit of Christmas decorating.  We ended our year with a pre-New Year’s Eve party with some of my family and now we’re entering 2015 full of joy and gratitude.

What was your 2014 like?

Honarable mentions:

I started participating in the Natural Parents Network’s monthly topic posts.

I (mostly) kept up with the Gratitude linkup with my friend, Laurel, from Alphabet Salad Productions.

I wrote my first guest post on Motherhood’s Destination with Echo, of Domain of the Mad Mommy.

I even hosted my very first giveaway for Rodney Jetton, author of Success Can Kill You.

What are some things you’d like to see this year on the blog? I know I have ideas for food/recipes, DIY/Crafts, and of course Baby Boy will make appearances. I also plan to expand some of my post topics to more current events and viewpoints on topics. So, tell me what you’re interested in seeing in 2015.

I really enjoyed this recap, particularly as I’ve been struggling with keeping up with my blog reading and have seriously fallen behind with all my friends’ news. Congratulations on your lovely new home, and Happy New Year to you and your family!

Ugh, so sorry about the hard times. Years really are mixed bags, aren’t they? They’re too long to be all good or all bad. I’m glad you found your beautiful home. What a relief.

And a sure relief it was to find this nice house for our family!

You’re so right about the length of a year, thus not being all good or all bad. I certainly like it when the year’s good outweighs the bad. 🙂

You have got a LOVELY family! And kudos on your blog milestones this year. Have you thought of reviewing product? I started doing that last year, and now I’m pretty much hooked, haha…
