Often, I think I don’t know what I’m doing. Who knows if I’ll ever know what I’m doing. Today though. Today I think I’m doing ok as a mother overall.  I don’t know about you, but my current state of Motherhood is constantly changing.  This post is about some of my thoughts on right now.

motherhood, monkey boy, mothering, parenting, guest post, current state

I wonder all sorts of things, things that I often doubt others ever wonder about. Things like: does Baby Boy get enough face time, is he supposed to play by himself most of the day, what kind of activities am I ‘supposed’ to do so he learns, am I doing something wrong with the one or two educational song/YouTube videos he watches, am I showing him enough other things, is he too independent for his age????

And the list goes on and on.

Trust me, I worry about those things too.. my daughter is currently becoming obsessed with TV, and it’s hard for me to know where to draw the line and what kind of limitations to put on her. Same with her playing alone.. I don’t want to neglect her, but I don’t want to be a helicopter mom either.. They’re tough questions!! – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com

Yes, it’s such a tough balancing act. And, I definitely understand about the ‘helicopter mom’ thing. I don’t want to be, though I’m sure sometimes to others it might look like I’m too lax. But, he’s only 20 months and I think it’s important he figure things out (within reason) so long as he’s safe and not hurting anyone else. We’ll just keep plugging at it and do the best we can, eh? 🙂
