December was really something for us.

We tried to get most things done in the house before family arrived for Christmas. Unfortunately, we didn’t finish.  At least the main spaces were free of dust and random debris.  I was literally sweeping as they pulled into the driveway.

At least I was able to greet them with a hot bowl of chili after their long overnight drive.

Later that day, as we were discussing the arrival of an expected package, we were all surprised by the arrival of additional family.  No one thought they’d be able to make it, but we were all so happy they made the 12+hour trip to visit us this holiday!

Truly, we had such a blessed Christmas in our new house.

Another bad picture. This looks incredible in real life, I’ll try to get a better one soon.

A quick Mostly Unedited post was published. I do plan to have more of these in 2015 (and would love for you to join me)!

I also reviewed two books, Rare Bird and Good God, Lousy World, and Me.

And using our new craft room, I made a gift for both Baby Boy and Hun.

I hope your 2015 has started off well!

What are some topics you’d like to see on the blog this year?

This year, my biggest accomplishments are: 1) Painting my goat barn, and 2) Doing a deep cleaning on the entire house so I can start off the New Year with a squeaky clean home!!

Bad thing is, while deep cleaning I compiled a “to do” list on random things (fix this, touch up that, organize that) and now my list is far longer than when I started out the year, haha!! Anyhoo, I’m glad you are having a good start to the new year!

I am enjoying everything I read on your blog, so not sure what I’d want to see more of…. I always like seeing pictures! They are my favorite! <3 – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com

Wow! A painted goat barn, that’s so cool. Love the ‘start the New Year with a squeaky clean home’!

Those to-do lists just grow and grow and grow, don’t they. It sometimes almost seems like marking one thing off isn’t getting me very far…that is until I see by the change things make how far we’ve gotten lol.

I plan to take more pictures of the house, so plenty of pictures sometime in the near future 😉 Glad you like what’s on the blog so far!

Yeah, I was soooo excited to paint the barn.. but I feel kind of silly, because I purchased pre-stained (to a red tint) lumber when we built the barn, then I picked out a red called, “Trading Post Red” to paint it.. so while it’s definitely a prettier, deeper tone of red, the colors aren’t SO MUCH different that visitors notice, “Hey! You painted your barn!” lol! Grrrrrr! Oh well, I still feel somewhat accomplished. 😉 – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com

A feeling of accomplishment goes far though! A nice red can’t be beat, if you ask me 🙂

I want to read Rare Bird but I haven’t. I’m a bit afraid but I know she’s a beautiful writer and I’m pretty sure I met her last year.

Lucky you having met her. She weeks beautifully. Although it is an emotionally tough book to get through in an empathic way, it really is a great book.

I could probably send it your way if you’d like. Send me an email, if so.
