The entire month of January 2015 has come and gone. We’re officially 34 days into 2015.

I’m sitting here reflecting on the number of days that are gone in 2015 and I’m asking myself tons of questions.

I wonder where the time went. I’m increasingly amazed at how fast time seems to go by as an adult. I vaguely remember being a kid and thinking things were so slow. Early in my adulthood (think undergrad), I recall thinking that time had a reasonable pace. Now though, ha! It’s sometimes like time is playing a joke. A non-stop joke that goes something like this.

Look, here’s a new day, the sun is shining, it’s bright and sunny! 24 hours is a long time! You’ll be able to start this or that project. You’ll be able to go outside and play with Baby Boy. You can do some reading. The house won’t look like a disaster area when Hun gets home. You can lay down and relax with Baby Boy for a bit in the afternoon. There’s all this time for you to do all these things.

And then reality sets in. Monkey Boy may or may not be cooperative the entire 24 hours. Or more likely, he’s cooperative at times and at others more disruptive than seems possible for a 28lb person.

I may or may not focus on one activity long enough to complete it (see aforementioned toddler).

Those social media and blogging tasks I wrote down, yeah they took longer than expected.

Dinner preparation was a bit rushed, despite planning for it.

The house still looks like a disaster when Hun walks in the door.

I didn’t read even a page in a book.

That tea, yeah it’s been sitting there for the last 3 hours, untouched.

Yet somehow, it was a good day. Probably because I ended up smooshed!

Time can be so elusive.  Just about every day we’re fooled by time. I wonder why that is?

Anyway, enough with the time talk. Let’s do talk about what happened in the first 30 days of 2015.

Well of course, we rang in the New Year.

2015, january

I picked a Word of the Year and took Another Look Back at 2014.

I finished a pair of crocheted socks with this beautiful yarn.

I’ve spent some time working on another project and have completed some of the design.

Monkey Boy turned 21 months! And he just keeps going. Every day, all day, running, playing, talking and otherwise being busy.

The blog was re-launched with a new design.

I reviewed a couple of books: The Presence of Absence and The Same Sky.

And I made appearances on other blogs a few times here, here, and here.  Thanks to Echo at Domain of the Mad Mommy and Sally of Bungling Housewife for having me!

I wonder how things have gone for you so far? If you’ve set resolutions, have you mostly stuck to them? If you picked a word for the year to focus on, how has that gone? Did you have any specific goals for January?

Thanks, Echo! I’m so glad you like the blog redesign. As I’m sure you know, I worked quite hard on it and now I really feel like it’s more representative of me and who I am and what I believe.

Hopefully your February won’t be as busy…or at least you won’t have a lapse in coffee this month! 🙂

I’m constantly caught off guard by the passage of time. I’ll often think something was in the last week, but it was actually a month ago or something. Lol 🙂

Time pass by so quickly at least sometimes. Often when you have a good time and just want it to stand still for a while. Lovely photos as always and wise words. I hope your February is great!

Thanks, Charlotte! I hope your February goes well, too and that you have plenty of those wanting time to stand still moments! 🙂
