I love the spontaneity that Hun and I share when it comes to having fun, being us, spending time together as a family, and introducing new things to Baby Boy!
One such fun trip, we took over Memorial Weekend. We hadn’t planned to go anywhere or do anything special for Memorial Weekend, but lo and behold, we did! In fact, our entire weekend was nice, with great weather, tons of sun, and little pressure.
On Saturday, we took a quick trip to see some family. Monkey Boy had a blast with his cousin, playing in the yard and using sidewalk chalk. Unfortunately, the pictures were somehow deleted.
After all that fun, we stopped by to visit grandpa and grandma for a bit, before heading home for the night.
With no real plans except a desire to get in water, Sunday morning, I looked for a place we could visit. Thanks to the wonderful world of the Internet, I was able to find a lake not too far from home! After asking Hun how he felt about it, prepping some drinks and snacks, we were on the road.
We enjoyed the lovely sunshine, a wonderful 85 degrees, wind in our hair, and a clear sky.
Baby Boy had a blast as both Hun and I worked on showing him what swimming is! I loved being in the water, but maybe not as much as I loved watching my two guys just play. Watching these two incredible people I’ve been blessed to have in my life, is such an amazing thing.
Monkey Boy also shocked us both when he climbed the metal ‘stairs’ at the small playground on site! Monkey Boy’s intent focus kept him from noticing Hun arrive at his side to help! He just wanted to get up the stair like the other kids. Hun and I’s shock and pride for his accomplishments reaches new heights all the time. Watching Monkey Boy learn things without being directed, really is quite wonderful.
Now, of course, we took a few belly shots!
I can’t wait to go back, maybe even grab a few people and make a day of fun in the sun and water!
