In our family, we believe in music. I grew up listening to music with my Dad and watching him play guitar. Honestly, I never really thought about any children I might have and how music might play into life with a family. And, though I now have my family, I’m still not really sure how music plays into our lives. Then again, we’re still writing the story of our family, so there’s that.

Suffice to say, Monkey Boy has a love for music. He’ll often ask that we play music when we’re in the car. He likes to sit and play with his toy piano or electronic drum. When we’d go visit my Dad, Monkey Boy always found my Dad’s guitars. And so, of course, we let him play with them. My Dad even gave Monkey Boy his own guitar case. For now, that case sits waiting to be filled one day.

Sometimes we go to different music stores as Hun is looking for sound equipment for his projects. And, recently we visited a local Guitar Center. I’m not really sure how they felt about Monkey Boy roaming through the store (almost) on his own, but no one said anything. Either way, Monkey Boy always finds his way to the guitars. I won’t get any of the guitars that are hanging up for him just yet, but I will let him strum a bit on those already on display stands.  He’ll often ask about the amplifiers by Accoustic on display as well.

It’s a good thing we have a Guitar Center not far from home and that they have great store hours. That way we can easily swing by one while we’re out and about doing errands or even after dinner during the week, without rushing.

So, if you’re in the market for something music related, take a look at Guitar Center, as they have over 200 stores nationwide, all with great store hours.
